Born in Reno, Nevada, raised on the edge of a little suburb looking east onto open desert expanse, the artist spent her youth in a place that felt limitless in both physical space and imagination.

Seeking the cosmopolitan world, she left her hometown in 1991 to travel up and down the west coast, finally coming to rest in Seattle, Washington where she stayed until 2005. In Seattle her budding artistic nature found fertile ground and plenty of nurturing. She was inspired to run a home-based business for three years selling handmade candles, soap, cards, jewelry and Victorian style women’s accessories of her own creation. Later she would attend Seattle Central Community College, where she secured her degree in sign language interpretation, and afterwards transferred to the University of Washington Seattle where she graduated with a B.A. in philosophy.

In 2003 she began to travel extensively in Eastern Europe, exploring Poland, Czech Republic, Northern Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. In early 2005 she left Seattle and moved to Ljubljana, Slovenia where she lived and worked as an English teacher until returning to her hometown in July of 2006. The artist currently resides in Reno, Nevada and is an MFA candidate at the University of Nevada Reno, where she is also the staff sign language interpreter.
